I build things. I also lift weights. Occasionally I write things down that I don't publish. Study about systems architecture and engineering behind it. Sometimes I do nothing for a long stretch, and then I do quite a lot very quickly.
I have no interest in being known for one thing. That has always seemed like a strange thing to want.

Spent three weeks on distributed system failure modes. Most failures are predictable. Human failures are not.
Shot a market before dawn. Available light. No flash. The exposures are technically wrong. I kept them anyway.
Months of grappling. The mechanics are simple enough. Application against a resisting opponent is a different problem entirely.
Wrote a song. I have not told anyone about it.
Read Dostoevsky's Notes from Underground. A study of the spiteful human ego. Most people live in the delusion of rational self-interest; the Underground Man is honest enough to admit he would sabotage a perfect system just to prove he has the agency to do so.
